![]() There was little to no development and of the two, I liked Sajou. The movie adaptation is sooooooo good! ✨Feeling blessed ✨Ĭan you say Overhyped to the max? It's cute, the cliches are ok, and I liked the couple but holy crap we learned nothing about them!! It's just popular guy and nerdy smart guy getting together, things go great despite a few arguments, and.that's it?! □What was the last movie you have watched that you would highly recommend? I must have watched this anime like more than 10 times already! Yet they are one of the best shounen ai couples I have come across so far! Their personalities are almost opposite to each other. ![]() There's not much role of other side characters. Sajou preparing for his big upcoming entrance examination and his fear of travelling in trains not to give up on exams like on many occasions before while Kusakabe trying to figure out how to deal with the changes both of them are facing together. They have to face their own fears being with each other. ![]() ![]() It's an all boys school life story with the two never having crossing paths with each other until Kusakabe offers to help Sajou prepare for the chorus festival at their school. It's the story of two boys Rihito Sajou, an honor student, and Hikaru Kusakabe, a guitarist and a very much popular guy (damn, I love him with all his long blond hair being the weirdo he is!). ![]() ![]() ![]() Although it was written in 1936, some things, it appear, never change. As the publisher put it: “She was one of a growing number of independent, professional women who live alone by choice.” This book, which was number eight in the bestsellers list for 1936, was written as a guide for the ‘extra woman’ or ‘bachelor ladies’ who, after the book’s release, inevitably became known as ‘live-aloners’. Hillis, (1889-1971), worked for Vogue for over 20 years, according to Virago Press, beginning there as a captions writer and working her way up to become assistant editor. Put together by Mary ‘The Archers’ Cutler, the radio version used chunks of the book, but was also part speculation as to how the book had come to be written in the first place, and the combination was intriguing, entertaining, enjoyable and uplifting enough to make me want to find out more. ![]() ![]() ![]() My attention was originally drawn to Marjorie Hillis’ book Live Alone and Like It by a Radio 4 adaptation in 2002. Does advice for the single women of 1936 have any bearing today? Cazz Blase reviews Marjorie Hillis’ guide to independent living ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Honestly, I'm not a fan of these teeny romance clichés, after both The Hunger Games and Twilight I feel the love triangle has been slightly overdone. In addition, the introduction of charming Orion into the equations adds a new dimension to the romance in this novel, forming an epic love triangle. From the weak, vulnerable, clueless character, she turns into a heroine, realising her true power and transforming from protected to protector. In particular, the development of our protagonist, Helen, from the first book to the second is empowering. ![]() As the plot thickened, I found myself become intrigued by a spellbinding story that grew in complexity every chapter. Without Lucas by her side, can Helen stop The Furies and moreover what price will she have to pay?įast paced and exhilarating, for me, this book was better than the first, whilst excluding some of the previous teen clichés. Yet, denying their unforgettable love sends them both to breaking point. Meanwhile, Helen and Lucas grow more and more distant, trying to suppress their true feelings for the sake of their new found relationship as cousins. But a world without sleep is a dangerous place and Helen finds her life rapidly deteriorating along with her sanity. By night she is forced to wonder hell itself, in hope of preventing an endless cycle of blood for blood inherited through each generation of her family. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In this paper I examine two young adult novels with asexual protagonists-Kathryn Ormsbee’s Tash Hearts Tolstoy (2017) and Claire Kann’s Let’s Talk About Love (2018)-and how their protagonists’ asexual identity is woven into their coming-of-age stories and romance arcs. This is why-as with all queer identities-it is important to represent and normalise asexuality within fiction, particularly fiction aimed at young people. ![]() This can have an especially negative effect on asexual adolescents who are not experiencing the ‘rite of passage’ that is sexual desire and experimentation with sexual relationships. This societal narrative leaves people on the asexual spectrum-those who do not experience sexual attraction-on the margins and considered abnormal. Sex is considered an intrinsic part of being human, and the development of a relationship with sex and sexuality an intrinsic part of growing up. ![]() ![]() With that vow, there's a new friendship between the two that quickly blooms into love. ![]() He says that he hadn't realized he has the power to make her cry, that he's sorry and will protect her from this day. When she meets Arthur, she's taken by his good looks but soon realizes that she finds few admirable traits in him. ![]() She will often say that there was never a time she didn't know that she was Princess of Wales and future Queen of England. From the time she is three years old, she is betrothed to Arthur, Prince of Wales and son of the king of England. Her childhood, spent in conquered lands and watching her parents in one crusade or war after another, will uniquely prepare her on her own quest for the crown of England's queen. ![]() In 1491, Catalina, who will become known to the world as Katherine, is traveling with her parents on the battlefield. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Problem Of Pain is the first one that I have read, but I will say with this one his approach is definitely analytical – very unlike a church service where they preach to the emotions. ![]() Throughout, though, there are little gems like the quote above to make you smile.Īt one point, Lewis was an atheist, but over time through his intellectual inquiries and deductive reasoning became a Christian and wrote a series of spiritual books to help explain ( Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, and The Great Divorce to name a few). The material is interesting and thought provoking, but the delivery can be a bit dry and heavy at times. This is Professor Lewis teaching a theology course. This is not your Chronicles of Narnia C.S. “’Where will you put all the mosquitoes?’-a question to be answered on its own level by pointing out that, if worst came to worst, a heaven for mosquitoes and a hell for men could very conveniently be combined.” ![]() ![]() Intent, so when a murder does occur, there's a long list of predictable suspects. I actually loved the idea of this book and I loved the beginning, especially. And I know it’s hard to have an illness-if nothing else, I empathize with that wish that you weren’t different. I know it’s hard when you want to fit in. So, to sum up, I think this is the basis for my thoughts on this book. Especially when it’s your health on the line. ![]() God this review is just going south, ain’t it? My POINT remains that I think the guy in this book was a philanthropist with a sister who had issues of her own….why would he mock the girl he was falling for? I just didn’t connect there, I don’t think. People don’t just mock those with illnesses for no reason-Well. ![]() What I don’t get, however, is the need to lie to such a nice fella who shows signs of extreme care and understanding. Or, rather, to blend in, to not stand out. I can’t rightfully put myself into her position (or anyone else with an illness for that matter) and understand why I’d be ashamed, but I do understand the need to fit in. Like…I mean I guess I get why she wanted to fit in-I do. I just…I don’t know why the MC felt the need to lie. ![]() I have a new BBF and I want to shout it from the rooftops. ![]() |
